We are sailing through Yampi Sound and along the Kimberley coast towards Darwin. Little islands with rocky outcrops, lots of blue and azure water, some small sheltered coves with yellow sand beaches….repeat…

Lynne has been in isolation in our cabin for a couple of days, with a nasty cold/cough/sore throat. I am being the carer with the mostest (if I say so myself), bringing her tasty morsels from various meal locations on the ship. The chances are that she caught a bug from me….but maybe also from one of the many ’coughers’ on board.
I cancelled our booking to do the Heritage Walk around Darwin – at 70% humidity and temps over 30….neither of us are up for the 2 hour walking experience. Substituted a ‘hop on hop off’ bus tour instead.
Watched ‘The Critic’ movie – set in London in the 1930’s with Ian McKellen, in a masterful performance as a conniving, self centered manipulator who managed to wreck at least 3 lives in the process of trying to save his career.
We’ve attended a couple of art gallery auctions but most works are not to our taste. Quite like this one….

When ‘at sea’, afternoon teas are served in the Da Vinci room. Enjoyed this little egg slider and a scone with jam, but disappointed that the cream provided tasted fake (reminded us of that stuff that’s aerated out of a can – yuk). Giggled when I saw this art on the nearby wall ….conveyed my ‘well I’m not impressed’ mien 🙂

From Cirque de Soleil to centre stage, ReubenDotDotDot served up a smooth cocktail of comedy and circus skills tonight. We watched acrobatics, juggling, whip and wise-cracking, and balancing acts….daring acts in such a small space, delivered by a master relishing his craft. He told us he was born of a Chinese father and Polish mother – the first acrobat to learn and finesse the Chinese Pole act (Saltimbocca show, Cirque de Soleil) 🙂
