Lynne has caught my bug, poor thing, so she’s isolating for a few days…while I catch the bus shuttle into Broome to get her some more meds. I fondly remember my trip here in June 2023, balmy and warm. Today, it was hellishly hot and humid, and still. Scurried back to the ship after shopping.

The next day was better…a breeze makes all the difference and I walked along Dampier Terrace in the shade to get to my massage appointment. Chris gave me a magical 1/2 hour remedial session- aligning my out-of-whack hips and getting the cricks out of neck and shoulders. Felt wonderful. A light lunch at Mr Saigon, spring rolls and an apple, cucumber, mint and water refreshing drink. 

Very pleased with my purchase of a pretty set of mother of pearl/malachite earrings. Not too exxcy and will complement most things I wear.  Loved this photo of the landscape around Willie Creek that was on the wall of…mmm….I think it was Allure South Sea Pearls.

Back onboard the ship, I used the access to the internet to do some body corporate work, caught up a bit with blog posts, and responded to friends’ various messages. I miss having ready access to the net! Neither of us are prepared to pay $85/day for the privilege.

I have become a bit of a groupie for the 2 Halves Duo – the woman Karla, from Hungary has a tremendous vocal range and gorgeous timbre, combining well with Robert from Poland, who accompanies her on piano and has a pleasant voice (think Peter Allen). They met professionally on a German ship I year ago and decided to combine their talents. She did a stupendous Adele tribute performance last night and all of us in the audience were ‘blown away’. Glad to see they are a permanent fixture on board for the cruise. 

Jason Dean is the night’s crooner –  a dazzling tribute to the music of Elton John, featuring iconic hits delivered with flamboyant flair.
